“The Key of G”

Dedicated to and in Memory of

Ghosha D'Aguanno

Ghosha sang at the Sawtown Tavern in North East Philadelphia, I only had the privilege to know her for a few months but she was the catalyst to the creative spark I was searching for. Organized jam sessions, relaxed and loose, melodies taking a back seat while she told a quick anecdote then back into the music. It was where she deserved all of your attention but she didn’t care if you gave her any. It was laid back, and it was there where I slipped back into my doodles, ny doodles became sketches and my sketches became drawings.I found something I thought I lost or more honestly something I gave up on. Ghosha was many things to many people, she was a beacon, a jester, a bard, but to me she was a muse.

When Ghosha was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer I made this to keep her spirits up, an attempt to turn her diagnoses into a piece of art. Inscribing the lyrics from the closing song of Abby Road, the song she ended every one of her shows with. Sadly the dedication was short lived and Ghosha D'Aguanno passed away on April 17th 2018, This piece hangs forever in her memory at Sawtown Tavern to celebrate her life and her music and the inspiration she has brought to the community.
